Cementitious Tanking
Cementitious tanking is a specialised method used primarily in construction to waterproof below-ground structures such as basements, cellars, and tunnels. This method involves the application of a cement-based waterproof coating that prevents water ingress, ensuring the structural integrity of buildings and other constructions. The need for such tanking solutions arises due to the challenges posed by groundwater and moisture, which can lead to significant damage over time, including damp, mould, and even structural failure.
The process of applying cementitious tanking is meticulous and requires careful preparation. In terms of performance, cementitious tanking provides a robust waterproof barrier that is highly effective against hydrostatic pressure.
